Tuesday Trail Talk: April 8, 2025

Spring is Here

Spring has arrived, and with it, the perfect opportunity to get outside and reconnect with nature. The snow is receding, the trails are drying, and soon, the paths we’ve dreamed of will take shape—but we need you to help make it happen.

In Douglas, our trail-building efforts will resume, forging new routes for hikers, bikers, and outdoor lovers to enjoy for generations to come. And come June, we’ll return to Casper Mountain, creating something truly special for our community.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Natrona County Rec Joint Powers Board, we have a grant of approximately $24,500 to build two miles of trails. But imagine the impact we could make together—with your support, we can increase that number to six miles! Every donation helps carve out a legacy, turning dreams into reality.

This isn’t just about trails—it’s about fostering adventure, strengthening connections, and leaving something lasting for future generations. Be a part of this journey. Donate today and help us build something extraordinary!

Our Upcoming Adventures.

This month kicks off many exciting events that we get to be part of.

Winter’s Last Blast

This Saturday April 12th is Winter’s Last Blast at the Biathlon Center at McMurry mount park. This free event is for all ages and geared towards families to enjoy one last cross country ski, snowshoe, and outdoor educational activities. Come join us from 9-2 even if it’s just to have some hot cocoa!

Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investment (OSLI) Informal Forum & Workshop

Shortly after that, we will be making a trip to Laramie, WY on April 22nd-23rd to attend and participate in a Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investment (OSLI) informal forum and workshop, held at the University of Wyoming.  We hope to glean information on state trust lands and opportunities for state leased lands.

Wyoming Geological Association Luncheon

With a quick trip back to Casper we will be presenting at the Wyoming Geological Association (WGA) luncheon on Friday the 25th to share our latest funded project that is located at Alcova Reservoir—Cottonwood Creek Dinosaur Trail.  Please see the attached press release for that information.

First Trail Building Class - Douglas, WY

The following day we will be in Douglas Wyoming to instruct our first Trail Building class. This class is an all day two part course aimed towards volunteers. There will be a morning classroom session and an afternoon field session. Class will be held at the Douglas library from 9-12 and field session from 1-5 at Douglas mountain trail system. Please consider joining us for this inaugural event.

Wyoming Outdoor Recreation Summit

And that’s not it…The beginning of May we will be back in Laramie at the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation Summit. This event is May 1st and 2nd. We will be attending as well as participating as a panelist at this year’s conference. We are extremely excited and grateful to be part of this event. Check it out here.

It’s not over!

We will be back in Douglas full time to complete the brand new Douglas Mountain trail system.

There are many other projects and partnerships on the horizon. Again, we could not do this without our community and the support from people like you. Please consider being a steward of our growing outdoor recreational spaces.

See you on the trails!
