Tuesday Trail Talk: January 7, 2025
Welcome to 2025!
As we reflect on the past year, 2024 was truly remarkable. Looking ahead, we’re excited about the opportunities 2025 brings for our community and its trails.
This year, we’ll continue the trail expansion on Casper Mountain, with work slated to begin on June 1st, depending on snowpack conditions—an earlier start may be possible! We’re also thrilled to announce a new program aimed at streamlining trail maintenance. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting initiative.
In addition to new trails, we’ve planned numerous maintenance projects to improve the sustainability of existing ones. Notably, major changes are happening beyond Natrona County as well. On January 4th, the Explore Act was signed into federal law, marking a significant step forward for outdoor recreation. This law enhances recreation opportunities while improving the management and accessibility of federal lands. For more information, check out these articles:

Enhancing the Cottonwood Creek Dinosaur Trail
Continuing efforts to bring a bike park to Casper

And many other exciting trail projects!

Winter Trail Report
We’d like to express our gratitude to Chris Smith for the generous donation that allowed us to purchase a Snowdog groomer. This equipment has been invaluable in maintaining consistent conditions on our winter-use trails. Currently, we’re grooming 10 miles of singletrack trail!
Don’t miss out—grab your trail pass, inflate (or deflate) those tires, or strap on your snowshoes and explore areas you’ve never had easier access to before!

We also wanted to share this great photo one of our trail riders sent in of Austin running the Snowdog groomer and maintaining the trails. Big thanks to Austin for all his hard work!
