Snow is here—for the year, it seems, at least in the mountains.

Roads are extremely slippery and snow covered - Please drive slow and use caution!

A long fall gave us a pleasant, productive building and riding season, but yesterday brought in winter with a bang. As we move into winter use, please keep a few things in mind for the Casper Mountain Trails System:

  • Snowshoes are required on winter trails—no standard foot traffic, which damages the snowpack.

  • Dogs are not allowed on winter multi-use trails. Please heed winter use signage and regulations.

  • Fat-tire bikes are allowed on singletrack and groomed multi-use trails, but take care to avoid leaving any ruts if conditions are soft.

  • Trail passes are required for all winter use, including on singletrack. Purchase yours.

In the short term, we are monitoring the trails system for storm damage and conducting tree removal. Winter markers will be up soon on Eadsville, Copper, and Miner.

Major dirt work is done for the season, but we anticipate some additional tree work to continue opening up the outer loop corridor around the biathlon area. We are ramping down on trail construction, but we are extremely grateful for all the volunteer hours that helped make this build season a huge success!

Stay tuned for more winter-use updates, including information on singletrack grooming.
